Male vs. Female Whip Mount — Which One Do I Need?

We offer our quick-release whip mounts in both Male and Female configurations. Both provide the same strong, secure quick-release connection—the main difference is how the mount attaches to your vehicle’s whip tab or mounting bracket.

MALE MOUNT
The Male Mount has a threaded stud that passes down through your vehicle’s mounting tab and is secured underneath with a washer and nut. This is a great choice for most standard whip tabs that have a simple mounting hole and enough clearance underneath for the nut.

FEMALE MOUNT
The Female Mount has a threaded opening in the bottom of the mount instead of a stud sticking out. Your mounting bolt comes up through the vehicle’s whip tab and threads directly into the mount. This creates a clean installation and can be especially useful when your setup works better with the hardware coming from underneath.

Not sure which one to choose?
Think about the hardware direction on your vehicle:

• Male = stud goes DOWN through the mounting hole. This option is a lower profile.

• Female = bolt goes UP into the mount. This option is taller, perfect if you need more clearance for the quick release pin.

Both versions feature our secure quick-release pin design with a safety tether, making it easy to install or remove your Mwhips Freedom Whip while keeping everything securely locked in place.
