VP C9 is an unleaded, ethanol-free race fuel formulated to deliver performance improvements over premium pump gas while remaining safe for catalytic converters and oxygen sensors. It is a direct complement to VP C10 and offers an economical alternative with strong detonation resistance.

In crate engine testing, C9 produced gains of 3-4 HP and more torque compared to a competitor's standard 110 leaded race gas. It burns very clean and is approved for use in vehicles equipped with emissions control systems.

C9 is ethanol-free, which makes it an excellent long-term storage fuel. It will not phase-separate or degrade fuel system components over extended storage periods the way ethanol-blended fuels can.

Spec fuel status: C9 has been chosen as the spec fuel for multiple racing series in North America.

Frequently asked questions:

What is VP C9 race fuel? VP C9 is an unleaded, ethanol-free race fuel with a 96.8 (R+M)/2 octane rating. It is safe for catalytic converters and oxygen sensors, chosen as the spec fuel for multiple North American racing series, and has shown gains of 3-4 HP and more torque over a standard 110 leaded race gas in crate engine testing.

Is VP C9 safe for catalytic converters? Yes. C9 is unleaded and burns clean, making it safe for use in vehicles equipped with catalytic converters and oxygen sensors. This is one of its primary differentiators from leaded race fuels, which can damage emissions control systems.

What is the difference between VP C9 and VP C10? C9 and C10 are companion fuels. C9 is the more economical option with a 96.8 (R+M)/2 octane rating, designed for engines that don't require the higher octane of C10. C10 offers higher octane for more demanding applications. Both are unleaded and ethanol-free.

Can VP C9 be used for long-term fuel storage? Yes. C9 is ethanol-free, which makes it an excellent storage fuel. Ethanol-blended fuels absorb moisture and can phase-separate over time, damaging carburetors and fuel system components. C9 does not have these issues and maintains stability in long-term storage.

Does VP C9 require hazmat shipping? Yes. C9 is a flammable liquid subject to hazmat regulations. A surcharge will be added at checkout and reflected in your shipping cost.
